The Moomintroll statue previously located by the wall of the Metso library building in Tampere, in front of the old Moominvalley, was moved to the safety of storage last autumn to make way for the renovation of the Metso library. In the spring, the statue was moved to Tampere Art Museum to be admired by Moomin fans once again. The statue now greets all Moominvalley visitors at the edge of the staircase leading to the basement.
This autumn, the Moomintroll will be moved to the vicinity of the new Moomin Museum, the Sorsapuisto park next to Tampere Hall. The aim is to place the statue so that selfies can still be taken with Moomintroll. We will keep Moomin fans up to date as the autumn progresses!
