We all know the Moomins! At the Children's Academy's first lecture of the autumn, producer Minna Honkasalo will talk about the creation of the first Moomin book.
We all know the Moomins! Many watch Moomin cartoons, and others read Moomin books. One always drinks cocoa from a Moomin mug, and another prefers to sleep on Moomin sheets. But where did the Moomins come from? How did Tove Jansson decide to start writing the first Moomin book? Could she have guessed then that even after 80 years, the Moomins are still beloved characters around the world?
At the Children's Academy's first autumn lecture, producer Minna Honkasalo will talk about the creation of the first Moomin book, Tove Jansson and the importance of imagination. She has worked at the Moomin Museum for a long time and, together with her colleague, wrote the Moomin Museum Book, which is a children's non-fiction book about the Moomin and the museum. She is currently thinking about how the Moomins can be enjoyed as much as possible in Tampere and internationally.
Note! Lectures in Finnish only.
The Children's Academy is aimed at children aged 7–10. The Academy offers lectures on interesting topics, wise teachers and professors, a lecture hall and a study book for the lectures. Just like at an adult university! You don't need to register for the lectures. The Children's Academy is made for you in cooperation with the University of Tampere and the City of Tampere's Urban Culture Unit.
