Tampere - the home of the world's only Moomin Museum - will celebrate Moomin 80 - The Grand Birthday Celebration and Tove Jansson's birthday at Tampere Hall on Saturday 9th August 2025.

Tampere - the home of the world's only Moomin Museum - will celebrate Moomin 80 - The Grand Birthday Celebration and Tove Jansson's birthday at Tampere Hall on Saturday 9th August 2025. Welcome to celebrate with the whole family!
Tampere Hall will be filled with a diverse program during the day. There will be dance, friendship jewelry making, birthday cake for 1000 people, music, Moomin Meet & Greet and the traditional wreath-laying of the Moomin statue. The celebration will culminate in the park concert by the Tampere Philharmonic, Tampere Hall and Tampere Energy.
The wreath-laying of the Moomin statue will take place at 11:45. Other programs will be held inside Tampere Hall from 12 to 17. You can see the current program here. The park concert starts at 6 pm. Admission to the events is free.

In addition, in the Small Hall of Tampere Hall you can experience Tove Jansson: The Invisible Child performances at 11 am and 2 pm. Of course, during the day you can also visit the Moomin Museum in Tampere Hall and the Van Gogh Alive summer exhibition in Sorsapuisto Hall. The above-mentioned programs require an admission ticket.
