Where are we?

The world’s only Moomin Museum is situated in Tampere, Southern Finland. It’s the biggest inland city in the Nordic Countries, known for its clear blue lakes, beautiful nature, vivid restaurants and public saunas, among other things. Learn more about Tampere: and how to get here:

Tue – Wed 9am – 5pm
Thu – Fri 9am – 7pm
Sat – Sun 10am – 5pm

The museum is closed on Mondays.

Tampere hall ticket office and Moomin Museum Shop are open with same opening hours.

Special opening hours 2021

The museum is closed on following days:

1.1., 1.5., 25.–27.6., 6.12. and 23.–26.12.

The museum is exceptionally open only until 4pm on following days:

30.4., 24.6., 22.12. and 31.12.

All tickets that have been purchased in advance must be changed into entrance tickets at the Tampere hall ticket office up on arrival.


No free entry on Fridays

At the moment we don’t have the free admission to the Moomin Museum on the last Friday of every month at 3-5 pm.

No free guided tours in English on weekends

At the moment we don’t organise open guided tours due to Covid-19. However, groups are welcome, please contact


The Moomin Museum is wheelchair and stroller accessible. There is a ramp at the main entrance and elevator access between floors.
